Peer Review Process
The International Journal of Modern Education Studies (IJONMES) is unwavering in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of scholarly integrity. To this end, we have instituted a meticulous and transparent peer review process that ensures the research published in our journal is of exemplary quality, originality, and relevance.
Submission and Originality:
All manuscripts submitted to IJONMES must be original works, not previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication by any other outlet. Authors are responsible for ensuring the exclusivity of their submissions.
Initial Assessment:
Upon receipt, each manuscript undergoes a preliminary assessment by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Section Editor. This step ensures the manuscript's alignment with the journal's scope, its adherence to basic scholarly standards, and its overall suitability for further review.
Reviewer Selection and Double-Anonymous Peer Review:
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are forwarded to independent experts in the pertinent field. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, publication history, and past review experiences. Under the Double-Anonymous Peer Review model, both reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other, ensuring an unbiased evaluation based solely on the content and quality of the research.
Feedback and Collaborative Refinement:
The peer review process at IJONMES is not just evaluative but also collaborative. Authors receive comprehensive feedback from their peers, facilitating a dialogue that often results in enriched and refined research output. We believe this collaborative approach is pivotal in advancing scholarly discourse and enhancing the quality of published research.
Decision Process:
Post-review, the feedback from reviewers is collated and discussed in editorial meetings where decisions about the manuscript's status (accept, revise, reject) are made. While reviewer recommendations are crucial, the final decision lies with the editorial team, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive evaluation.
Ethical Standards:
IJONMES places a high premium on ethical research. Authors must ensure their work aligns with the journal's ethical guidelines, especially when the research involves human or animal subjects. Necessary consents and approvals should be secured and presented when required.
Review Duration:
While the duration of the review process can vary based on several factors, we aim to provide authors with feedback and a decision within [specific time frame, e.g., "8-10 weeks from submission"].
Appeals:
We understand the effort and dedication that goes into each research manuscript. If authors disagree with a decision, they have the right to appeal. Such appeals are reviewed carefully, and decisions are revisited in light of the additional information or arguments provided.
We are dedicated to fostering a transparent, rigorous, and supportive review process, and we encourage authors to engage proactively in this collaborative journey to ensure the best outcomes for their scholarly contributions.

Policies for Research Involving Vulnerable Populations
The International Journal of Modern Education Studies (IJONMES) is dedicated to ensuring the highest ethical standards in research, particularly when it involves vulnerable populations. We define vulnerable populations as groups that may be at a higher risk of harm or exploitation, including but not limited to children, elderly individuals, people with disabilities, economically disadvantaged groups, and those with limited literacy.
Guidelines for Research Involving Vulnerable Populations:
- Ethical Approval:
- All research involving vulnerable populations must obtain prior approval from a recognized ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB). Researchers must provide evidence of this approval upon submission.
- Informed Consent:
- Researchers must obtain informed consent from participants or their legal guardians. This consent must be voluntary, informed, and documented. In cases where participants are unable to give consent, consent must be obtained from a legally authorized representative.
- Assent from Children:
- For research involving children, assent should be obtained in addition to the consent from parents or guardians. Assent means the child’s affirmative agreement to participate. Researchers should explain the research in age-appropriate language to ensure understanding.
- Protection of Privacy and Confidentiality:
- Researchers must implement measures to protect the privacy and confidentiality of vulnerable participants. Personal data should be anonymized or pseudonymized wherever possible.
- Minimizing Harm and Risk:
- The research design should prioritize the safety and well-being of participants. Any potential risks must be clearly communicated, and measures should be taken to minimize these risks.
- Beneficence:
- The principle of beneficence should guide the research, ensuring that the benefits of the research outweigh any potential risks to the participants. Researchers must ensure that the participation in research does not result in harm or adverse consequences for vulnerable individuals.
- Right to Withdraw:
- Participants must be informed of their right to withdraw from the study at any time without any consequences. This should be communicated clearly and reinforced throughout the study.
- Special Considerations:
- Additional considerations should be given to the cultural, social, and economic contexts of the vulnerable populations to ensure that the research is conducted respectfully and ethically.
- Transparency and Reporting:
- Researchers must transparently report the ethical considerations and protections implemented in their study involving vulnerable populations. This information should be included in the methodology section of their manuscript.
- Review and Compliance:
- The editorial team of IJONMES will review all submissions involving vulnerable populations to ensure compliance with these guidelines. Manuscripts that do not adhere to these ethical standards will not be considered for publication.

- No Endorsement: Users are not permitted to imply or suggest, either directly or indirectly, that IJONMES endorses their work or the manner in which they've used the original content. Using our content does not establish any professional relationship or affiliation with our journal.
We believe that with these guidelines in place, we can ensure a harmonious balance between open access, author recognition, and responsible content usage.
No Imposition of Additional Limitations: IJONMES stands firm in its commitment to the spirit of open access and unfettered knowledge sharing. As such, beyond the stipulations of the CC BY 4.0 license:

- Right against False Attribution: Authors have the assurance that their name will be associated only with works they have genuinely created and approved. This protects against any potential misattribution or misrepresentation.
- Protection against Derogatory Treatment: We commit to not subjecting any submitted work to derogatory treatment that might harm the author's honor or reputation. This includes ensuring that the work isn't distorted, mutilated, or otherwise modified in a manner that would be prejudicial to the author's honor or reputation.
- Author's Voice: While our editorial team might suggest changes for clarity, coherence, or formatting, the core voice and perspective of the author will always remain intact. We believe that this voice is the soul of the piece, and preserving it is essential to upholding an author's moral rights.
By emphasizing these moral rights, IJONMES seeks to foster a nurturing environment for authors, ensuring that their work is treated with the dignity and respect it deserves.
Duties and Responsibilities for Authors:
- Awareness and Compliance: It's imperative for authors to thoroughly understand the stipulations of the CC BY 4.0 license. This understanding ensures that when authors use or repurpose content – be it their own or that of others – they do so within the legal and ethical frameworks set by the license.
- Citation and Acknowledgment: Whenever authors reuse or adapt content under the CC BY 4.0 license, it is their duty to provide clear, comprehensive, and accurate attribution, acknowledging the original source and the author.
- Transparency with Co-authors: In multi-author papers, all contributors should be made aware of the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license. This ensures collective understanding and adherence to the license's terms during subsequent uses or adaptations of the work.
- Respect for Modifications: If an author reuses content that has been previously modified by someone else under the CC BY 4.0 license, they should acknowledge not only the original source but also any significant modifications made by subsequent contributors.

- Feedback and Communication: Authors should be open to feedback and, if approached with queries or clarifications regarding their work's licensing, respond in a timely and constructive manner.
By embracing these duties and responsibilities, authors not only uphold the spirit of open access and sharing but also contribute to a culture of respect, integrity, and collaborative growth in the academic community.
